58. End of Life Processing Rate

Description

The End-of-Life Processing Rate (EoL PR) measures the efficiency of the end-of-life processing process.

Methodology

For each material fraction, the End-of-Life processing rate is defined as:

The End-of-Life mass recycled divided by the End-of-Life mass collected.

Rationale

oject activities aim to increase recycling and upcycling of materials instead of landfilling. r instance, several actions of the city of Seville in the project promote the recycling of biowaste, through the installation of a separate collection system and pilot alternatives of treatment further than composting. Also, on the other hand it is expected that the implementation of separate biowaste collection will improve the quantities and quality of the rest of the fractions that are selectively collected (Glass, paper and board, and lightpackaging mainly), and therefore the efficiency of the recycling process, because of the hypothetical improvement of purity-quality of these fractions.
