Rationale

Part of the demonstration actions are based on improve the separately collection of biowaste in the City of Seville. The biowaste collected is composted in a treatment plant. Currently, only the 2% of biowaste collected is sold for agronomic purposes, due to their quality. The compost produced in 2020, from organic materal (biowate + mixed waste) from the city of Seville was around 15.200 tons.

It is consider interesting evaluate how the demoaction also contributes to the quantity of material for composting in terms of city.

Baseline data / definition

In 2020:
Mass of organic material going to composting from biowaste collection (56% of purity): 1694*0.56= 949 tons.
Mass of organic material going to composting from biowaste mixed collection: 19500 tons.
TOTAL Mass of organic material going to composting from biowaste mixed collection: 20.449 tons.
