The information above is specific to Porto's evaluation plan. For general information on this indicator, please refer to its entry in the list of indicators. What follows below is what has been filled out by the city.
Rationale

New containers to bio-waste collection and composting islands will be georeferenced allowing to know the source of material to compost production (DA1).
The new smart sensor collection system will allow to collect information on the quantity of waste collected, together with data on usage patterns, and maintenance operations. This will be used to help optimise bio-waste collection from the connected containers, as well as to promote interaction with users and will also be made publicly available for businesses and the general public to enable other potential applications.
The new tools tested in DA2 will impact the materials allowing better mapping the resources.
At city level, both demo actions will contribute to know better the resources within the city.

The tools are new and aren’t implemented yet, so the baseline will be zero.

Data sources / relevant databases

The data related with qualitative description of the new tools will be given by LIPOR (DA1 and DA2) and Porto Ambiente (DA1).
