I wanted to reprocess this file, because it contained 40 single items of boundary, each called “Grunnkretsgrense”, instead of one boundary for the city. I marked it for reprocessing and wanted to group it into one. However, I got the Z-coordinates error code, because the system doesn't seem to strip it when going this route? Error message: "We have tried processing this file, but have encountered an error. This shapefile includes data in 3D. We only store shapefiles with 2D data. Please remove the elevation data (Z coordinates)."

How can the Z coordinates be removed?

Ahhh, I thought that when you wrote the other day to help with, I believe it was the road network in Mikkeli that this was now universally applied by the server for any such files: "However, I have now modified the code so that the elevation data is stripped out on the server and I think this should now make it work for you when you try to process it again." - but this was only a one-off for that particular file then?

I will try to adjust it with the links that you added. Thanks for those!

I did indeed write code to do this server-side, but it does not seem to work for all files. I have not seen this often enough to understand when it does and when it doesn't work. So that is why I also built in an error that does a final check to see if the Z dimension is still present, and if it is, it now properly alerts the user at least.

Gotcha Paul. Good to have the alert and to now also know that there is a manual option to solve it then.

Here is what I did and it worked apparently: Downloaded the file, went to QGIS > in the menu "layers", I selected "save as..." > in the details under geometry, I chose linestring and then unchecked to include the z-dimension > saved it as new file > replaced the files stored in the data item entry with the new ones > processed it.

The only strange thing that happened in the end was that there was no reference space card under the map, see screenshot, although there usually is, even if it is a single one. When clicking on the boundary, it brought me to a reference space called "City boundary". I renamed that to Bodø in the backend. I then selected this boundary as the city boundary, so now Bodø also has a master map.
